This dress is an old favourite purchase. My decision to add a layered skirt underneath was simply because the dress probably wasn't designed for a person of my height. Well, I am guessing, anyway! Nonetheless, I was determined to make it work. How's the April weather where you're located?
Back detailing: At first I wasn't fond of the exposed zipper, but now it's growing on me!

Skirt that I made: (oldie but goodie) I am sure that you will see this many times in the future!

Love what you have done with the dress!! Great way to style it and make use! Great belt too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog! Love the detailing of that dress.
ReplyDeleteI really like the cutout effect on the back as well as the exposed zipper.
ReplyDeleteThe weather here is actually nuts- yes it was 90/32 yesterday, but this week is supposed to drop significantly (as in 70/21)
That dress is amazing!

i love everything about this look so cute!
ReplyDeleteThat dress is fantastic, and I actually love the exposed zipper with all the back detail. Great idea layering a skirt under it, too. These are the kinds of things I never think of.
ReplyDeleteI have that dress too but in black! It doesn't wash very well and I swear it's shrunk (but I'm short anyway so it wasn't too bad) but I like wearing it layered with a lacey top underneath. I love how you've layered yours!
ReplyDeleteHi Winnie,
ReplyDeleteI had too many black dresses so I decided to get this one instead. Hhmm... interesting, I have washed mine and have not had any problems, but I also hung it to dry instead of putting it in the dryer. Thanks so much for your comment! -xxoo
Thanks Marissa! Yes, the exposed zipper grew on me! stay tuned for more innovative style approaches... hehe! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kenyetta! -xxoo
ReplyDeleteOh Monique, I'm glad that you like it, I loved this dress quite a bit!! :)

ReplyDeleteI love that dress on you! I actually like it with the black showing underneath, maaaybe more than I would like it with skin showing. And like Marissa I dig exposed zipper too!! I'm glad it's growing on you.
ReplyDeleteGawsh, we've had so much rain already this April! But spring has FINAAAALLLY come in the form of warmer weather here in NY.
Very nice! I like the skirt underneath. I would totally do that too. I don't like things being too short these days.
