In The Name of Thrifty-Chic... and a Layover

Monday

This week has been quite an intense work week for me, but with perseverance I made it and preparing for yet another labourious undertaking. My body feels jet-lagged at some points I was uncertain what it was running on, as I did not remember one day if I had eaten (lunch) or what time it was figuratively speaking.

But, there's great news! I am back with full energy and ready to take on documents, presentations, research, and more! I'm the lady doing exercises as I go up the escalators in the airport. Yes, indeed it is occasionally needed.

One of my favourite parts of the weekend was meeting up with my cousin and due to extended layovers doing a bit of thrifting on my way back home. If you follow me on twitter then you know that during this excursion I SCORED nicely! However, it was not entirely apparel ... I will not bore you with the housewares details (think packable picture frames and intricate mirrors!

Thanks to the hotel express-laundering service I was able to pack the items quick and clean with a few snap shots to follow.
Polka dots: This dress was $3.00 (will wear in a post very soon)!

This is a small glimpse of what I found during my bargain hunt, and did I mention each item was 2, $5, and under! Of course, there will be more to view on my V+V series this week, so please stay tuned for that my dears! And I'd like to wish a warm welcome to my new followers! I do hope that you're having a most excellent day. Remember the day is what you make of it!

Here is another great find, a new CK denim jacket, I've been on the search for a well fitted one, and alas I found it! This actually had new tags that remained on it, and after a little custom eye-gaze I wore it in style and for only $4.97. That's like a cappuccino, no?
Triple threat: buttoned sleeves!

I love this seafoam/jade colour belt!
Here's a silly little scissors brooch, but I could not resist! It was priced at an appropriate $.25!

This is a red bean and beaded necklace, I have a similar one in bracelet form, however I thought this was a great buy for the two to become friends in my jewellery chest.  €1

*Remember if you're an avid vintage shopper or thrifter as I am, be certain to clean (by washing, dry clean, solution) your items before you wear and before putting with other travel items if possible. I've learned that extensive caring is necessary even for housewares; I also do not usually buy appliances or ceramic items when on-the-go, but that's just me!  Here's more cleaning info about vintage if you don't know here.

"A hug is a great gift - one size fits all, and it's easy to exchange."   So I hug all of you on this beautiful day!

You have an eye for style...the polka dot dress is a perfect example that every fashion item does not have to cost a fortune. It is an artists eye that is required!!
