A Textured Tweed Affair

Saturday

My favourite textures involve classic patterns and timeless fabrics, chevrons, herringbone and many others.  So, of course I had to bring out my fitted tweed blazer. Tweed is perfect for the season and well-suited for a great work meeting.

I have several tweed pieces, but only one that is an all-time favourite. This time I paired my vintage blazer with charcoal trousers, which may be one of the final times in wearing due to the waist being quite big now. But, I adore the elongated illusion that wide-legged trousers gives you
—I also built up the courage to wear my layered woollen knit underneath.

As you know, after having years of allergies toward wool I figured out a way to wear this particular piece (which was tricky because of the layering seams), by adding a silk-sleeved tank inset. Fortunately it remedied the problem at hand, it worked exceptionally well, and resulted in me being able to enjoy my layered textures in style and peace.

I'm still enjoying good company of dear friends and family holiday, but will catch up on lurking on your spaces or Insta-snaps! Wishing you a wonderful weekend and joyous week to come!

You're absolutely smokin' in that lace dress and I want that leather jacket from the pervious post!!!! Aghhh!
I also love that you're actually wearing sleeves now - so is it any colder? The tweed jacket is lovely but i love the easy mix of textures here. The bag is also beautiful, love the intricate design or is it embroidered? Hope you're having a lovely weekend!

  24. Haha, Thanks love! Yes, the climate is a bit volatile, but now colder, although the lace dress was taken before! Hope your weekend is going amazing. And yes the bag has intricate design ... it's a tooled leather (sort of holds an embossing effect rather) xx/Madison

  45. Lady, you look beautiful! I see what you mean about the wider leg on these pants giving a leaner, svelte look. I need me some of these pants! ha! And what a nifty tip regarding how to keep allergies at bay with the silk tank. I don't have allergies to wool but my daughter does. I shall pass along the tip! Have a great week, my friend! :)

  46. Oh man...allergic to wool? That is rough esp now that some of the wool isn't the best quality so itchy.... Love the blazer and the silk inset sounds like a great idea.
