Calming Blues

Monday

Happy November! It's the beginning of another week, a new day, and new inspiration. Hopefully, your weekend had you fully rested and keeping warm if the climate blew bone-chilling breezes.

For me, it seems like October was all of two whole weeks in some ways creatively speaking. However, in the reality of pencilled in schedules and other life happenings, yes, I do recall feeling each moment. Some moments hurriedly passed through the hours of an entire day, and others tended to move at a snails pace.

I have been excited about November the past few weeks though, because I know that several planned affairs will be happening. The eagerness had also set in because I am heading off to visit family and friends soon, which may be slightly overdue since I missed a few people last time around. I can already smell the biscuits! But, enough about that!

Here's an outfit that I wore on an off-day. The day was filled with nothing except yoga, library research, Turkish cuisine, a few sketches in the handy notebook, and spending time out at cafés.

This skirt was a long maxi that I chopped off last year. The hem was too long, and since I loved the blue and grey colour combination I wanted to make a scarf out of the same fabric. It was casual, but everything in my outfit gave off a soothing colour palette and spirit of calm. You see, calm hues can be happy as well!

Hi Madison!  Love the way you've created this look ... adorable, and the booties are so great too!  Hope your November is FABULOUS.  Last week was so incredibly busy for me and then I was out of town for the weekend and this is the first chance I've had to stop by to say thanks for your lovely comment on the Masked Ball post last week.  Hopefully, this week will be a wee bit less squished! lol Have a "dreamy" new week! ~S

  22. October really did go by in the blink of an eye. I'm completely dumbstruck that it is already November. It's WEIRD.

I love this outfit. I'm a huge fan of pleated schoolgirl skirts and I love that you made a matching scarf out of it. It makes the outfit so much more cooler. And that skirt really did need to be chopped off, haha. I'm not a big fan of long pleated skirts. (They've always seemed kind of schoolmarmish to me). :)

  24. Oh, I'm so jealous that you can still wear short sleeves and skirt :) I would freeze to death in such an outfit! But anyway, you look really fantastic, and so cute!

  40. Dear, you´re wearing plaid! Just the print I adore too. Great look. The matching scarf really made a big difference, making the mix look polished instead of a high school uniform.

I love how you are so creative with reinventing your clothes - I'm always so tentative about hacking off hems, sleeves or whatever. But it makes sense if you get a piece that is more fun to wear! The skirt is very cute and I love the cutoff as scarf. Great blue boots too!
