Well, we had planned to have a nice dinner with friends some
time ago, as we usually do every month, but for some reason it didn’t happen
until now. So, this weekend will be an autumn harvest style dinner. Since a month had already passed, I was determined to create
somewhat of a “tablescape,” or at least give it try for a dose of do-it-yourself
decorating.
I was resolute with the task at hand, and got crafty and inspired
by autumn colours. I went to my handy trunk of goodies (including, a wall of trimmings)
in search of all things fall: faux fruit, pumpkins, silk leaves, pinecones
and many other elements to add to this autumn concoction.

Of course I could not find the exact scale of pumpkin that I was
looking for, so instead of being aggravated I used one of smaller scale,
then added more pieces for a different effect than the initial
vision. It still worked out. I had the novel idea of adding cinnamon sticks to the centrepiece toward
the end of my inspiring decorating journey.
Ahh, yes, now all that was needed
was a clear vase, baskets, and fun placemats to top the table off!
Between using jewellery wire and glue this week, my little
hands will surely need some pampering on the weekend. Now that I am slightly exhausted and need to
clean up the work area, here’s the result so far and some quick snapshots. What do you
think?

Have you decorated for autumn or did you get crafty in the
house for Halloween? Next up, as you know the holidays are just around the
corner. Ironically, I did happen to even stumble across someone singing Christmas
songs already this week. But, let’s talk about that later, shall we?
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Madison, that is absolutely beautiful! I swear you could open your own shop with all the beautiful things you create. People would pay for a centerpiece like that. Have fun at the Autumn Harvest Style Dinner! It's going to be pretty AND have great food! My door wreath is Fall. Not much decor inside, but that arrangement is gorgeous. Have a great weekend.

Well you certainly made an effort and created a lovely seasonal dislpay with the most gorgeous rich colours and textures. Autumn is such an interesting time of year and I can't believe that the shops have been decorated for Christmas for so long. I prefer to wait until after Halloween and our Bonfire Night before thinking about Christmas! I enjoyed some sweet Halloween treats last night with more to finish off tonight! Have a great weekend.

I love Autumn. This decoration looks so perfect to get into the autumn spirit.
ReplyDeleteLiebe Madison!

How pretty is that table centre piece? :D Sums up the beauty of autumnal colours. Growing up in a tropical country, I must say autumn is my favourite season. It's so fresh and the air is so light. Goodness, just how big is your trunk of goodies?? Or is it like Mary Poppins' carpet bag? What a beautiful autumnal cornucopia.
ReplyDeleteThat's very beautiful. Here I don't really decorate unless it's Christmas - I just get my candles out and top up my blanket supplies. :)

ReplyDeleteThank you so much Janice! xx :-)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love how the glass vase turned out - like a modern cornucopia.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, I rarely do anything like seasonal decor - with my husband being a chef, the main event when we entertain is always the food. But I do love seeing what creative things others come up with and I must say, this centrepiece is just lovely :)
