Patterned: Plaid and Stripes

Plaid is one of those classic patterns that can be worn in a variety of unconventional ways, and it does not necessarily need to be in the actual garment to make a statement–this time I went toward accessories: a plaid textured hat and stockings. Unfortunately, I really cannot wear shorts to work, so I decided to don them in this outfit for a weekend meeting with a client friend.

In my opinion, when it comes to hosiery, a lady can never have too many options, especially because of how delicate they are. Let’s face it, one snag or pull out of alignment and it’s nearly over!

Veneziana, a luxury hosiery brand carries Italian-made specialty legwear, including unique tights, knee highs and my favourite … garter stockings! I decided to try their tights and stockings because of how artful their designs were. They pretty much have an array of leg art denier choices, and plaid sophistication was one of the main attractions that I was drawn to.

I will be the first to tell you that I spend a fair share on quality pantyhose, and probably go through quite a bit, although habitually for work wear. But, first I had to try these out and compare them to my favourite styles that I normally buy. The verdict was successful for a full day of running around. The stockings were easy to put on and very comfortable to wear. I imagine, they will hold up just as well as my other luxe hosiery styles, however the additional test will be rapidly walking in the airport, so stay tuned!

Here’s also a preview of two other pieces that I selected, tried on, and will be wearing again soon—a shimmery silver lace design and a sheer floral patterned style.

What great tights (and those shoes are gorgeous, too!) I've still got tights i bought 5 years ago, I'll wear anything as long as it's neither black or flesh coloured! x

I only wear the occasional tights in the winter here and there, but nothing too fancy. I do like the plaid design though.

  21. Love your look here Madison! Been doing the short-tights combo lately also, so I can relate :D And yes, a little hat! You're so right, one snag, one pull, and the tights are on its way out. I love plaid or tartan and been wearing shorts in that print. I think tights are one of those that you can play around with in autumn/winter, so I do experiment with different prints and colours. I'm annoyed that I forgot to buy a pair I recently saw on a trip--the print was of musical notes which would've been a tribute to my musical side. Never mind, I still have a few to add holes to. Haha. Have a lovely weekend x

  22. I love the look and I agree I think hosiery is an opportunity to have more fun, express your personality and be even more stylish. There are so many interesting options when it comes to tights, especially from Wolford.

  34. Ooooooooh my gosh do I love this outfit! It is so, so, so cute! I really love the oxfords and the hat and the scarf! I know I'm always sick of tights by January, but really they are a lot of fun and luckily there is a variety of patterns and colors for us to chose from to get us by!

  36. I love your plaid tights Madison! There was a time when I lived in NYC and my tights were everything. I had plaid, every shade of opaque, printed, lace, etc. But now that I live someplace that is still in the high 70s mid-November, my tight wearing days are few and far between. Sadly. I am living vicariously through you :)
