Custom Wellness // [dōTERRA]

Thursday

I have been using a few new oils and some old faithful oils that I had ironically forgotten about. There are a fair bit of unique scents in this post so I'll jump right into it.

In partnership with our friends at

Patchouli
Pogostemon cablin

Did you know that patchouli works very well in skincare? Especially helping to reduce blemishes and imperfections. This is an oil that people often forget about, and is typically used in many household products; you will find patchouli in air fresheners, detergents, and even laundry products. Why I love it: This oil is ideal to use in your humidifier/diffuser since it has a grounding and balancing effect on one's emotions.

Smells like: Patchouli has a camphor-like aroma, with a hint of mint and if you inhale the scent with your eyes closed, you can smell the subtle mint very well. So, it’s no surprise that it’s actually part of the mint family. Benefits: Promotes a healthy and smooth complexion, and reduces the appearance of wrinkles. Tips: blend patchouli with coconut oil and myrrh or vetiver to relax and calm your feet.

Jasmine (Roll-on) 10ml:
Jasminum grandiflorum

Just as one would think this would smell like, a delicately sophisticated deep floral scent with power but there’s also a slight warm musky and exotic perfume smell as well. Jasmine Touch boosts your mood, promotes a healthy glow and can help reduce skin imperfections. Although I generally just use jasmine (as an alternative to commercial perfume) at the pulse points, I have recently added it in some of my night cream for extra benefits.

This convenient roll-on style allows you to take your essential fragrance with you whilst travelling. Stow it in your daily handbag or carryall. Jasmine has been a personal favourite (flower and) scent since I was a young girl, but I do think this is a really lovely oil to grow into over time — it's very elegant. Made from the jasmine flower with coconut oil as a carrier, it's ready to use and smells divine!

dōTERRA Spa Kit:
(Serenity, Balance, Citrus Bliss, and Deep Blue)

Thinking if this kit is for you? Well, if you’re the type of person that wants variety for different occasions this spa kit just might be what you’ve been seeking. The following four essential blends come in the kit:

SerenityPowerful and pretty is Serenity in a nutshell. I actually use this in a diffuser during yoga flows, it really helps to calm the mind body and spirit. It’s a calming aroma yet has spicy notes that are beautifully harmoniousThis blend is quite special, as it mentally takes you to an anti-stressful place; this is why I like to use it during yoga sessions. Daily stressors, be gone! It's an oil that helps you sleep better, relax and have less tension.

Ingredients include the following: Marjoram Leaf, Roman Chamomile Flower, Vetiver Root, Cedarwood, Ho Wood Leaf, Ylang Ylang Flower, Vanilla Bean Absolute, Marjoram Leaf, Roman Chamomile Flower, Vetiver Root, Hawaiian Sandalwood.

Balance: This could easily be a fragrance for men or women; the fact that it has such an appeal that is both sensual and pleasurable to the senses makes it ideal for a soothing environment. Aptly named for tranquil surroundingsNative Americans used the spruce leaf and oil for spiritual and health reasons; Balance is a calming blend that triggers the emotions and supports grounding effect.

Ingredients include blue tansy, blue chamomile, spruce leaf, Osmanthus flower oil, ho wood leaf, and frankincense resin, with fractionated coconut oil.

Citrus Bliss: Just in the name alone – a delightfully happy hybrid of citrus fragrance and a reviving aroma and lingering sweet notes of vanilla.  Ingredients: Vanilla bean absolute, and essential oils and fruit peel of Mandarin, tangerine, clementine, bergamot, lemon, wild orange and grapefruit.

Deep Blue: A proprietary blend that I’ve used in the past; Deep Blue helps with relaxing the body, post-workout or during any fitness activity. I like using it before and after exercising; it really calms the muscles due to the blend of blue tansy, peppermint, helichrysum, wintergreen, camphor, blue chamomile and Osmanthus.

Copaiba:
Copaifera reticulata, officinaliscoriacea, and langsdorffii (topical and internal use-aromatherapy)

If you have never heard of copaiba, think of it as black pepper's sibling – coming from the resin of the copaiba tree, the tropical area of South America with a height of more than 100 feet. North Brazilian natives (from the northeast) used this oil for health and wellness even in the 16th Century. Copaiba has a natural woody, spicy, and a hint of sweet aroma.

Copaiba promotes everything from a healthy and clear complexion to cardiovascular support. Additionally, it's a blemissupporting oil, as well as aid in immunity support and in the digestive and nervous system. For beauty use, add the oil in your facial moisturiser or cream for skin-clearing benefits. One of the unique things about copaiba oil is the protective support that it possesses for neuro, cardiovascular, and immune benefits, in addition to being a powerful antioxidant.

What is your favourite scent? Do you prefer floral, citrus or spicy scents?

*Remember, essential oils are highly concentrated, and not to be internally, especially in high doses without proper research and an experienced herbalist, or consent from a physician. It is important to understand alternative methods and holistic healing elements are not for everyone but are natural ways of promoting health and wellness.

I hope you enjoyed learning more about these oils and custom spa kit.
