As we make our way through autumn breezes and step into colder crisp winds, the thought of the holidays approaching may give you an overwhelming feeling. You needn’t fret, though, I am here to help!
This segment of my wellness series will provide you with several products to help relax your mind, rejuvenate your body and restore peace back into your life. Life can have difficult moments and oftentimes you may not have the time to get pampered at the spa, for that reason, taking time out for yourself doesn’t have to be time-consuming.
DōTerra has a new range of products to help get you started; surmount stress and benefit with calming botanicals with the Adaptiv line. The Adaptiv range is a system targeted at improving your well-being by reducing daily stressors and calming your body. In this kit, daily supplement capsules are accompanied by a roll-on Touch oil, and the penetrating essential oil, the proprietary blended Adaptiv oil formula.
Adaptiv oil is made with favouring ingredients for calming, roundness or focus in one’s environment. It includes the soothing elements of rosemary and copaiba, the uplifting and energising components of neroli, wild orange and calmness of magnolia, lavender and sweetgum all contribute to the balancing effects. The scent is subtle, herbaceous and has a delicate botanical garden aroma.
I used this kit for a month and really enjoyed it, I did find that using the three together improved calmness throughout my day, but for me, similar to CBD tablets. I also found that the essential oil itself was enough in my diffuser. Taking the roll-on oil to carry around in my bag was convenient enough and helpful. I don’t have as many stressful days as I used to because of the regular use of essential oils in my diffusers.
Black Spruce: Picea mariana
Sourced from Canada, black spruce has a balsam, woody, and slightly fruity aroma. It was used historically and most notably by the Native Americans for medicinal and healing purposes of the body and spirit. The wood of black spruce is powerful, with a natural chemical component of bornyl acetate, which promotes calm and relaxation.
Use this also to soothe minor irritations. In aromatherapy and for simple topical uses, this oil can bring harmony, balance and a massaging effect to the body, much like Siberian fir (a personal favourite), you may diffuse black spruce to help with breathing and clearing air passages.
Volo Onyx Diffuser
Did someone ask for an environmental enhancement? Indeed. Peace: A balancing earthy, herbal and resin concoction of vetiver, frankincense, ylang-ylang, clary sage, lavender, marjoram and labdanum (gum resin used in perfumery).
My favourite roll-ons to keep in my bag are definitely Motivate, Cheer and Console, although I use all of them equally. The Touch products are also incredibly convenient for travelling as I always mention this, additionally, these can make excellent gifts for birthdays, or holiday stocking fillers.
A bonus is that for some of the roll-ons (Motivate, Passion, or Peace) one could easily use them in the outdoors, perfumery refreshing and/or repelling insects sans the offensive scent of traditional sprays.
