Wellness + Florals [dōTerra]

Friday

Hello, darlings! I have been away working on personal projects as well as dealing with a couple of major business projects for work. One thing that I had missed quite a bit was blogging. I do have some exciting content coming up soon (both family-friendly and seasonally sound) but it has to be rescheduled for a later date due to so much going on with my schedule. Afterwards, I will be taking a break to finish up on things. Do stay tuned ...

In the interim, I wanted to share a few of my favourite essential oils and special blends from the past few months. I also did several DIYs creating labels for some of my apothecary bottles and found prints for others, etc. To start, the new miniature set from dōTerra’s botanical fragrance collection is an absolute must-have (think, self-care gifting to yourself, or for a loved one)!

Precious Florals

The Precious Florals collection includes a variety of five essential oil blends that can be used as personal fragrances. Housed in a painterly printed magnetic box, each bottle of oil enlivens the senses. The essential oil blend bottles are small enough to carry in a handbag, or even fit in a denim pocket. Each one can also be layered to create your own unique signature scent.

The set offers neroli, rose, magnolia, blue lotus, and jasmine essential oils blended with fractionated coconut oil as the carrier oil.

I have talked about all of these oils on the blog, but blue lotus is one that I have not. I use the flowers regularly as a tea to focus and for calming purposes. Two of my favourite oils in this set and most prized of them all are the rose and blue lotus. All of the oils in this collection are premium botanical oils and generally quite costly on their own, especially rose due to the collecting process of petals to produce the oil.

Amāvī ® Collection:

The Amāvī ® collection is made with essential oils of Buddha wood, black pepper, patchouli, balsam fir, hinoki (a coniferous tree in Japan), and cocoa extract, all blended with fractionated coconut oil.

If you buy the set, it comes with a toiletries bag and soap bar in the accompanying signature Amāvī ® Touch scent. This would make an excellent birthday present or upcoming holiday gift for the man in your life, be it a friend, partner, or husband. Alternatively, if you’re the type of woman that also loves a bit warmer and spicier scents, this would also accommodate you, as the ingredients are very grounding overall and coactively works on an individual basis by one’s body chemistry.

The scent is warm, spicy and earthy. It’s pleasant and has a subtle musk aroma that is slightly peppery. The patchouli and black pepper are actually the first notes. This Amāvī ® Touch blend also works well as a relaxing oil for tired feet; the hinoki oil generates physiological effects.

Wild Orange

This is still a favourite, but I have included it because a lot of people seem to need a mood elevator these days, since being quarantined or even slowly getting out of it.

How to use it: Change your ambiance by using diffusers — add a few drops of wild orange essential oil to clear the air of displeasing scents — or wooden diffusing sticks dipped in essential oil, upstanding in a bottle.

In aromatherapy when wild orange is used, studies have shown the effects are favourable, specifically during child labour, it helps reduce anxiety in women.2 This makes complete sense due to the aroma of the orange scent; its uplifting components allows the body to release tension during stressful times.

Tell me, what’s going on in your life? Which oils would be your signature?
