DIY CHALKBOARD TRAY

Method:

  1. On a clean flat working surface, use a paintbrush to paint the interior of the tray using the chalkboard paint. Set it aside to dry completely. *Alternatively, if you have chalkboard spray paint, then follow those directions instead.
  2. Add a second coat of chalkboard paint with the paintbrush, and follow the directions of step 1.
  3. To cure the painted tray, bake the tray in the oven for about 15-25 minutes on temperature via the label instructions. Mine baked around 120C to 130C (or from 300F to 325F)
  4. On a flat working surface, tape off the area that you do not want to spray paint (the inside edges of the tray, bottom, etc. Spray paint the untaped area(s). Let it dry completely.
  5. At this point, if you want to add a sealant to the outside of the tray/wherever you used spray paint NOT chalkboard paint, then you can do that (this is OPTIONAL). You’re finished!

Use this tray to serve cheese and more!
