Golden Goddess Tea - {Sugar-Free}

This is what I like to call my ‘Golden Goddess Tea’ — this tea is one that I serve a lot chilled over crushed ice but it’s also very good served hot as well. I often drink it without sweetener although it’s extra delicious with a dash of sugar-free syrup

This tea is packed with good ingredients including turmeric, ginger and coconut cream powder, straight from the meat of the coconut. Enjoy!

Golden Goddess Tea - {Sugar-Free}
Ingredients:
500 ml (2 cups) unsweetened almond milk
1½ teaspoons pure almond extract
½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
½ teaspoon ground ginger
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons ground turmeric
1 to 2 teaspoons sweetener of preference (sugar-free agave syrup)
1 pinch cayenne pepper to garnish
1 pinch black pepper
2 tablespoons coconut cream powder* - (optional)

Yield: Serves 2, or 4 if filling small tea cups.

Method:
1. Heat plant-based milk to a low boil on the hob. Turn off the heat. Remove from the burner.
2. Add the almond extract, vanilla extract, turmeric, cinnamon, and ginger. Stir with a spoon or whisk until incorporated.
3. Add the coconut cream powder and vigorously whisk until the liquid becomes slightly frothy (about 2-3 minutes); alternatively, you may use a blender or an electric frother to create a semi-frothing thickness but it is not necessary.
4. Divide the liquid into two iced-filled mugs. Stir in a pinch of cayenne, and black pepper or sprinkle it on top of each mug to garnish. Serve in two Moscow Mules.

*Note: I used Anima Mundi Herbals’ coconut cream powder (organic & vegan), Buy similar here
*If you want a little sweetener, I use a monk fruit sweetener or sugar-free syrup but Stevia or your preferred sweetener works fine.
