Interior Edits

We are in the process of renovating a few rooms of the house, so I am basically staying in our annexe whenever I am not away for work. I've learnt that updating an older home is not without its battles, especially when you want modern fixtures and amenities of varying degrees.

With certain changes to any home or living space, there is usually a lot of frustration involving measurements and fabrications, to say the least. Not to mention, being unable to get specific pieces that you've had your eye on for months. Then tears fall down your face in disbelief, because the items that you've been coveting are out of stock! At that point, it's either a waiting game or it's time to seek inspiration elsewhere. Of course, I went for the latter.

I don't get too irritated anymore because it merely allows me to be inspired more than ever, especially for home DIYs! There's always bits of influence for reconstructions, crafts, style revamps and massive home research for new projects. With that said, here are a handful of some homeware elements—this is a glimpse of favourites that have caught my eye lately.

Some of my personal favourites are pendants and chandeliers. From elaborate to simple farmhouse styles, there's such an incredible opportunity for us to add modern touches to the home, yet meet in the middle with my beloved rustic-luxury aesthetic with unique finishes. In fact, I really adore the mounted bedside Hollister vanity lamps (seen above) and the idea of a marble area rug (seen below), which is surprising since I've been gravitating to less modern designs lately for the entry room and bedrooms.

This blush sofa is a heavenly beauty to adorn any room with a dash of colour and, the wooden framed floor mirrors (in gold, mahogany and ivory) is always a smart choice in bedrooms in my opinion.

Budget-Friendly Wedding Simplicity

Hi, lovelies! I hope that you have been enjoying your summer. Here's an intimate tablescape that I did with Marry Me

For this wedding tablescape, the focus was on colour and centrepiece simplicity. To make such a small gathering like this have an elegant touch, I decided to create three floral arrangements. I have been doing more flower designing lately and it's been such a marvellous experience (I will give you some inside style tips for those in my next instalment.) The trick is to make the arrangements in a way where they can stand alone but also go along with the entire theme. Do take a look at the snapshots below for inspiration.

Small Details & Big Statements:
I decided to use a display suitcase in an almost Tiffany blue for this centrepiece with sola florals, moss balls and succulentsI love lanterns and used a white one to contrast the vintage teal and seafoam colour with the blush and fuchsia. If you're worried about over doing your theme or not having enough to design an elaborate table, try to use larger pieces, such as a lantern or floral bins to decorate around them. The garland with paper lanterns also helped to balance the retro aesthetic as well as add texture to the decor.

In this theme, the real statements are simply two things, flowers and colour! Therefore, my wooden rustic theme blends well with the flowers because I made the flowers several focal points.

Simple Accents:
For smaller gatherings and events, one quick way to make a statement by using textures. Whether real or faux, use them to your advantage. I used real birch wood pieces to adorn the table as a runner, the small birch patterns: the plates and napkins with faux Birchwood patterns helped to bring out the vintage-inspired theme. It’s charming and slightly rustic with a dash of sophistication.

Enjoy the rest of your week.
