A little bit ago, I did somewhat of an inventory of my
wardrobe to sift through what to donate and what to keep—excluding jewellery I started to compile a list of knit and woven
garments. Then, I analysed how many printed
knitwear pieces I possessed.
I thought that I had a few Geo-printed cardigans, but it
seems that I actually only own one. I was excited to wear this cardigan,
although I wish it were long-sleeved instead of a three-quarter sleeve length. I
wore this for running errands on a busy weekend, so comfy-chic, but warm was the
goal.
For some reason, this chiffon scarf reminded me of my aunt
who has loads of Bohemian jewellery, fabric, and curtains in an antique trunk that
I used to love peruse. It’s not exactly because of the colour, but rather the length
of the scarf and embellished tassels.
The wind loved this scarf, and it wasn't at all difficult to
get a blowing effect—it was more difficult to capture the right angle. So, I
gave up trying to unfold it as the wind blew strong, and just went with the
flow. The result was a fun draped effect that was also blown in the wind.
I call this look the kitchen sink, although I think it
somehow still works, even with all of the extra elements. I sort of felt nostalgic
and brought back these trimmed bootstraps
… remember those?

That scarf just has such a beautiful drape to it, and I love how it floats in the air like that:) Loving the card too.
ReplyDeleteI really like the geo-printed cardigan! This is one of my favourite prints! The scarf looks Bohemian maybe that's why it reminds you of your aunt's style! I have been inspired for outfits from my sister. There is a big difference between her and my style but I always somehow get inspired by her!

Loving the scarf blowing in the breeze! xxx
ReplyDeleteThe blowing wind really gives your bold scarf a great dramatic effect! And that cardigan is a fantastic piece as well!

Ha, the kitchen sink. I think my look today is like that too. I'm glad you're rockin' the cardigan. I love the way it flows.
ReplyDeleteI think we all get inspired by family members...Furthermore, I believe that for most women the first fashion rolemodels are their mothers, aunts and family members.
ReplyDeleteYou look great btw...the scarf is really lovely! I like the scarf too!
The scarf stole my heart! Have a lovely Tuesday Madison!
ReplyDeleteI love your cardigan Madison! A striking geo print alongside the fact that it looks very cosy indeed. I Love they way you've managed to capture the movement of the scarf in the wind like this. :)
ReplyDeleteTake care,

The cardigan is lovely! Sometimes I prefer a three quarter sleeve because it makes washing your hands easier and it's easier to wear bracelets. P.S. I love that action shot! ;)
ReplyDeletelove the B&W geometric pattern on your cardigan
ReplyDeleteWe are very sartorially different people, it seems - I don't think I own a single piece of print knitwear, apart from a single scarf. And that doesn't really count ;) My problem with prints is how often that seem to contain many different colours, and that's precisely why I love your cardigan - it has the dimension of a pattern, while still being beautifully neutral. I can't help myself, I have a bias ;)
ReplyDeletexox,
Cee
This is such a beautiful cardigan (the one you linked to is also great). I see why you would liked it with longer sleeves even more but maybe a white shirt underneath could solve it for you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful outfit <3 love that you added a belt to accentuate your waist.

Hi Madison! No that don't think I got inspired by family or friends. You look adorable again. I love the cardigan and the scarf. I have no idea why you call this look the kitchen sink. Das hab ich jetzt nicht verstanden haha. Ich muss auch meinen Kleiderschrank ausmisten. Hab einen wunderschönen Dienstag :D

Thanks Mira. Haha, das ist ein sehr alter Ausdruck , wenn etwas ist mit vielen Verzierungen, in der Mode oder zu viel ein Muster, bedeutet dies eine Menge passiert in Dein Outfit. Enjoy the rest of your day. /Madison xx
ReplyDeleteI love this geo cardi, especially with the belt on top - so fashionable and trendy! :)

I definitely identified with you being reminded of your aunt's antique trunk filled with treasures. i have a vintage hat box crammed with scarves that belonged mainly to one of my late great grandmothers and to her sisters. then i have her (and their) hats sitting on top of my bookcases, and their gloves, paired in a 60s vanity case. Although I never met them, i feel I've come to know them through these things.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scarf.
Love the scarf and cardigan.

ReplyDeleteThanks so much Kim for your lovely comment. :) xo
ReplyDeleteThank you Jessica! The wind had a mind of its own, but I'm glad it came out. :)
ReplyDeleteTrue. Although, I buy mostly three-quarter, so I really wanted it longer, lol. Thanks Jen!
ReplyDeleteHaha, yes it seems so--but that's the beauty in fashion--we can all have our own way of interpreting it. I love prints, so this worked for me, and I'm happy that it's a bit neutral, since I usually go for colour! Thanks for your thoughtful comment Cee. xx
ReplyDeleteGlad that you liked it too Mahshid. Have a great Thursday! x
ReplyDeleteThank very much Lu! :) xo
